Tiles

I wasn’t aware before coming to Lisbon about their heritage of tiles. The National Tile Museum whetted our appetite and we were keen to buy some tiles for ourselves. Many of the buildings are covered in tiles and as you would expect many of the souvenir shops are full of tiles of pictures of Lisbon or the iconic trams.

However, we found a great shop called XIII which sold lovely single tiles or classic panels. We bought a classic hunting panel of 12 tiles for our kitchen which we are thrilled with.

Ceramics

As well as tiles there were some lovely pottery shops as well. The best one  we found is Campo Sta. Clara Cerâmicas the address is Campo de Santa Clara 112, 1100-472 Lisboa. It had a range of beautiful ceramics some of which can be seen on their Instagram post

Tinned seafood

This is something that I did know that Portugal was famous for and we were keen to sample as much local produce as possible – they did not disappoint! There were lots of shops selling tinned fish some more touristy than others. My favourite shop was this one Conserveira De Lisboa

This is a very old and traditional store with a great range of tinned fish and well worth a visit if you are interested in trying tinned fish.
